From the looks of this story I'm not the only one that thinks Marion Blakey has completely destroyed the Federal Aviation Administration. Add United States Senator Chuck Schumer to the list.
Schumer correctly puts the blame where it belongs: At the feet of FAA Administrator Marion Blakey, who has laid waste to the world's greatest air traffic control system. I previously posted some of Blakey's more notable misadventures on her record-breaking race to claim the title of "World's Worst Administrator." I will be resuming that series shortly because I have a lot to write about and it looks like I'm going to have to hurry if I want Blakey reading it on the tenth floor of the Puzzle Palace. With Congress calling for her head I think I hear the tape-gun squeaking as some ATO lackey (izaat you, Bruce?) makes cardboard boxes to pack MB's crap in.
If they want to pack her accomplishments they can use a Post-It note.
The little square one.
Not a moment to soon for me. I retired about 5 years earlier than what I really wanted because of the abuse the FAA has doled out the last few years. The result . . . life is good outside the FAA.

Schumer wants Blakey fired because 38% of New York area flights are late or canceled. Based on what I know about the rest of the country, the controllers there are probably about one-third understaffed. Watch delays skyrocket when another third of the controllers retire by Christmas!
What shocks me most about this article is that FAA officials didn't have a comment. Are Laura Brown and Jerry Lavey on vacation? We didn't get a: "We'll have the right people in the right place at the right time."??? Or even a little: "We do not have a controller staffing crisis."??? Or how about some: "Ah cana fix thiiis with a little more monah and some Nextgen!"

Resign, hell ya! But whens the federal prosecutor going to bring charges of malfeasance in office, perjury, theft, and treason ?
Hey JTB, hows about a pool trying to guess when the wicked witch melts er quits or "resigns" (ie fired to avoid prosecution) ? 10x10 square, $20 a pop, proceeds to one of our brother or sisters that have fallen on hard times due to this bastard child of the faa, the ato.
Those two lairs, little johnson and dirty brown, are probably dusting off there resumes and looking for the back door asap :)
I still say letting em go, is not enough, those of us that went into retirement early because of these wana-be's are screaming for revenge. We want their heads to roll, put on pikes in front of HQ to warn all other wana-be losers er managers what happens when you stab, cheat, lie and steal your way to the top. The fall is quick and hard !

Because she stood by her man, he will stand by her. Especially if Shumer want's her out. Just like the Chief Law Enforcement Officer.

Stand by her man? Blakey is a MAN!

She is not going to resign. Screwing the unionized employee has become too much of a passion. She's going to savor every last drop of it.

It's not about her resignation,it's just about re-baselining her position....

The further the FAA Reauthorization moves along in conference committee hearings, the more interesting this gets. Seems, day by day, a lot of smoke billows from under the rocks that are continually being turned over.
Too bad we don't have any real investigative reporters anymore!
However, congressional oversight appears to be working here. This is something the regime never intended to have to deal with.
The silver bullet may be on short final.....

"We are working on eliminating the human element of ATC."

Lavey's last post has him saying that everyone agrees that Nexgen in necessary. Wrong!! Even with Nexgen there will still be a shortage of controllers, overscheduled airports, limited ramp space, and THUNDERSTORMS. I really hate them.

My worry is if she leaves then we get just one more Bush-Blakey type person. She she stays until replaced and Bush doesnt replace her, than we stand a chance of getting someone different, perhaps from a democratic admin with different views on ATC.
